Nelo was born in 2022 out of a simple frustration: messaging apps had become bloated, invasive, and slow. A small team of engineers and designers came together with one mission - to build a messaging experience that's fast, private, and genuinely delightful to use.
We spent two years obsessing over every detail: the way a message appears on screen, the speed of delivery, the clarity of a video call at 3G speeds. Nelo isn't just another chat app - it's a statement that good design and strong privacy aren't mutually exclusive.

The Team
We're a remote-first team of 40+ people spread across Lagos, London, Berlin, and Singapore. We come from Meta, Google, Spotify, and early-stage startups. What unites us is a love for craftsmanship and a belief that the best tools feel invisible.
